There are many Jewish laws that relate to the special relationship of a father and his child. The determina-tion of paternity in the premodern era had its challenges, but our ancestors could never have imagined the complexities of today. Our “updated” chapters to the code of Jewish law will include DNA testing, facial recognition software, chimerism, posthumous insemination, testicular transplants, and artificial re-productive seed.
